Local Property Management Company Donates Home to Home Sweet Homes

U.S. Veteran Displaced by the Joplin Tornado to Receive Home

Joplin – August 14, 2013 – The local Joplin community continues to come together to make a difference in the lives of persons impacted by the Joplin tornado. MONOPOLY I, L.L.C. (M1), a local property management company, recently donated a home on Grand Street in Joplin to Home Sweet Homes USA, Inc. to be given to a local senior displaced by the tornado. A move-in ceremony is planned later this summer.

A not-for-profit founded in 2009, Home Sweet Homes USA, Inc., is dedicated to serving the Joplin community, helping senior citizens with housing issues – whether through home repairs, home builds or renovations – thus giving seniors the ability to stay in their homes, in their community.

“As a resident of Joplin, I’m constantly amazed by this community’s resilience and drive,” said Woodrow Friel, senior vice president of property management at MONOPOLY I, L.L.C. “We are thrilled to give back to the community in which we operate and help with continued spiritual rebuilding of our community.”

The home donation also holds special meaning to M1 President and CEO, William Holstine. “As a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army, it is a special honor that this home is given to a veteran and his family. As a soldier for the past 29-years I understand firsthand the sacrifices that our service men and women make on a daily basis and to have an opportunity to recognize that service with a home is truly humbling for our entire company.”
